The following are tools that are available on the Web of Science and InCites platforms that can aid in Collection Development.
I have nothing and a friend sent me to this public help page, what do you have for me?
Our Master Journal List Page page is available here:
All journals indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, Arts & Humanities Citation Index, and Emerging Sources Citation Index have gone through a rigorous editorial evaluation. Find the high-quality journals in your specific area of interest using the 254 Web of Science Categories.
Scope Notes for each category are available in the help center, https://mjl.clarivate.com/help-center
I have access to Web of Science Core Collection
Downloadable journal lists for Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, Arts & Humanities Citation Index, and Emerging Sources Citation Index, including categories and ISSNs/eISSNs, are available here:
https://www.webofscience.com/wos/mjl/collection-list-downloads
See what journals your researchers are publishing in by running an “Affiliations” search. Then run an Analyze on Publication Titles and you can download the data table. It will not include ISSN/eISSN. See what categories your researchers are publishing in to see if your collection currently aligns with those needs.
See how to run Analyze Results
See which sources are publishing in a specific topic by exporting the results. A basic Author, Title, Source export will include ISSN/eISSN/ISBN.
I have access to the Web of Science Starter API (included with all Web of Science Core Collection subscriptions)
The Web of Science Starter API is available if you need to extract larger amounts of data. This can include the ISSN/eISSN/ISBN. Download up to 250k records a day.
See how to sign up for an API key here:
https://clarivate.libguides.com/librarianresources/APIs_user_guides#s-lg-box-33031022
See GitHub for code for extracting data from a search through the Starter API:
I have access to the Web of Science Expanded API (may be included in your institution's subscription. Check with the library/Electronic Resources Librarian for verification)
The Expanded API has additional data that can be returned over the Starter API, including retrieving and analyzing the Cited References of your organization/topic using the Cited References Endpoint.
See GitHub for code for extracting records and cited references, with automatic analysis through the Expanded API:
