Grants Index Overview

The Grants Index on the Web of Science platform includes over  5.2M awarded grant records from over 400 funding agencies in more than 15 countries. The Grants Index is fully integrated on the WoS platform, allowing users to search the collection alongside other collections via an All Databases search, or search directly as a unique collection, and navigate seamlessly between the grant records and publications that are associated with the awarded grant. Hence, it helps you understand what’s already been funded to differentiate new projects and proposals.

  • Link directly to Web of Science Core Collection records associated with a Grant Record
  • Link from a Web of Science Core Collection record to the associated Grant Record.

Grants Index Searchable Fields

Topic TS= Searches grant titles, grant descriptions, and grant keywords when available. 
Title TI= Searches the grant title only
Grants Number FG=

Searches grant number for each record

Example: EP/W019698/1

Grant Year GSY= Searches grant year
Principal Investigator

PINV=

Searches the listed Principal Investigator for each Grant record.

Co-Principal Investigator

CINV=

Searches the Co-Principal investigator for each Grant Record. Note: Only available via advanced search "Query Builder"

Funding Agency F0=

Searched Funding Agency name

Funding agency is often an acronym

Example: ESPRC or AHRC

Program Name PNA=

Searches the Program Name for each grant record.

Note: Only available via advanced search "Query Builder"

Grant Status GST= Grant status can be "Active" or "Closed"
Grant Type GTY=

Searches grant type

Example: Research Grant OR Studentship

Address AD=

Searches the Organization listed as the Primary Investigator's Affiliation

Example: University of Oxford

Accession Number UT=

Search the unique Web of Science accession number for each grant record

Example: GRANTS:17394017

 

Grant Full Record Details

The Grant full records will display key fields for each grants.

Note: Not all fields will be available for each Grant Record

  • Fieldes include:
  • Grants Titles
  • Principal Investigator
  • Co-Principal Investigator
  • Grant Source
    • Source of the grants data. This may be different then the Funding Agency
  • Published 
  • Indexed
    • The date a records was added to the Grants Index
  • Document Type
  • Grant Description
  • Affiliation
    • Listed affiliation for the Principal Investigator
  • Grant Number
  • Program Name
  • Grants Status
    • "Open" or "Closed"
  • Total Award Amount
    • Amount reported in local currency of Grant Source
  • Grant Start Date
  • Grant End Date
  • Language
  • Accession Number.
