Before you create your account

When setting up your account, keep the following in mind:

• Special characters are not accepted in first or last names.
• Use standard Latin characters to ensure your account is created successfully.
• We recommend using your institutional email address. This helps associate your account with your organization’s subscriptions and makes access easier when you are on campus.
• If you move to another institution, you can add or update your email address in your account settings - there’s no need to create a new account.
• Your account supports roaming access, which is especially useful if you’re working remotely for extended periods (for example, during a sabbatical or remote appointment).
• For security reasons, you’ll be asked to update your password every six months.
