Retraction Watch Database integration improves Retracted Publication identification
The Web of Science clearly identifies Retracted Publications so that researchers are aware when a published item may have been retracted by the publisher or author. With this release, the Web of Science Core Collection data integrate with the Retraction Watch Database to expand the identification of Retracted Publications and display available “reasons” that an item may have been retracted. This integration with an industry standard source of information about retracted publications will provide Web of Science users with more transparency regarding retractions and improve the Web of Science Core Collection’s ability to identify publications that have been retracted.
Filtering of Retracted Publication from Web of Science Research Assistant
In this release, we have implemented a feature that filters out documents classified as 'Retracted Publication'. As a result, retracted publications are now automatically excluded from the Research Assistant. This enhancement ensures that users access only the most reliable and trustworthy documents.
Co-author Visualization Map
A new interactive visualization map has been introduced as an additional feature to the Web of Science Research Assistant. The co-author visualization map feature illustrates the collaborative relationships among researchers based on their joint publications. This visualization enhances user’s understanding of each co-author's significance and their collaborative efforts.
Key highlights include:
- Strength of relationships: Bubble size reflects the number of co-authored papers, highlighting stronger collaborations.
- Variable node sizes: Larger nodes indicate co-authors with more co-authored documents, while smaller nodes represent those with fewer.
- Edges: Display collaborative connections, with co-publication counts available on hover.
Currently, we display 10 co-authors on the visualization, but users can view up to 100 co-authors on the results page.
Simply click on each bubble to see the co-authors of the selected authors. When you hover on the edge, you view or click to co-authored works of two authors.
When you click on 'View ‘X’ co-authored works' for two co-authors, all related documents/counts will be displayed on the results page.
When user clicks on Author name, we will now display author preview as a side bar within the interface
Publication overtime graph – View as a set of results
Users can now view all publications over time as a comprehensive set of results on the summary page. Previously, users could only select 25, 50, and 100 years in the publication over time graph, limiting the ability to see specific intervals like 5 years or other years in between. With ‘view as a set of results’, users can use the publication year filter on the results page to view any year o, providing greater flexibility and precision in research.
Chat history full label display
The full chat history label will now be displayed when hovering over each saved chat, allowing for easier scanning and deletion without needing to click on each one. This improves upon the partially displayed labels we previously offered
